I am a 20-something living in the upper Midwest. I love books, mostly YA but also some adult. My interests range from fantasy to contemporary, historical fiction to mystery. I love to talk books, bookish things, and books that I am dying to read. I think this is an amazing way to bond with people from ALL OVER! A reminder that this fabulous thing called the internet can connect us to so many people! When I’m not reading I definitely am binge-watching something on Netflix, discovering fabulous new music, baking sweets that are SO not healthy for you, and hanging out with my wonderful husband.

Here are just a few other random things about me: I am an avid MN sports fan (the MN Twins hold the biggest place in my heart, but those MN Vikings and MN Wild are totally in there as well!). There’s nothing I love more than an afternoon wandering a book store even if I don’t purchase a thing. I love getting mail (though I really seem to only get bills these days). I live for summer. I love a good movie night. I have an enormous sweet tooth and am attempting to calm it down. I am trying to find that brighter side of life and bring it to this blog.

ABOUT ARIKA:

Hey, my name is Arika. I am also a 20-something Midwestern by blood who is now living in the south. I am super into books and will read mostly anything. I am predominantly into YA and dystopian but I also enjoy historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, thriller and the occasional romance. I love to talk all things books, whether that be the start to a very good series or the epic finale of one. I love the fact that books can bring people together from all walks of life and all across the world. They let anyone escape into a world where they let their imaginations run wild! If I don’t have my nose in a book, I am probably watching some kind of disney movie, sports, or hanging out with my awesome husband. I am a huge Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Wild fan. Hockey is my favorite sport and moving down south was a hard thing since the closest hockey rink is 1.5 hours away! I also like to cook and I collect many cookbooks too and you can find me most weekends trying a new dish.

I hope this blog can help me connect with others and discover new things! I have always wanted to get more involved in the blog world and hope it gets me more involved not only in books but other amazing things too.

    Hi Emily,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your tribute to your dad. God blessed you with an amazing father. And your pictures are wonderful. Your Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Ray are friends of ours. We think they are awesome, and obviously it ran in the family, awesomeness, I mean. My Dad was killed in an accident when I was 2 years old. I am so thankful for the father that God gave me. I am even more thankful that God is my awesome father. God bless you Emily ALL WAYS and
    ALLWAYS. 🙂 🙂 :). Sally

    1. Thank you so much for your comment and taking the time to read it. In all honesty, when I typed it up I thought about nothing but helping myself out and not about the response it would get and I am blown away by the kind words. Thank you so much for commenting. I am very sorry to hear about your dad, but thank goodness God was looking out for us and giving us awesome dads down here.
And I agree, I think Ray and Cheryl are pretty awesome too. Thank you again for your kind words!
