#SwankySat…Building Your Own Bookcase!

Welcome back to Spectacularly Swanky Saturday! If you are wondering what this is all about head on over the Kelly’s page for info. Last month we talked about our fictional summer flings (and each of us had a different way to talk about them). Nothing like bonding with people over a mutual love for a fictional character.

This week we are spending time in book nerd heaven and dreaming up our ideal book shelves. If you are rolling your eyes and laughing then I am so sad that you do not understand the importance, and I hope we can show that to you. We will basically be telling you what the shelves look like, what books and various things we would have on it, etc. So…here we go!

I am very excited to, once again, have Chelsea here to share her ideal book shelf with us!

When I think dream bookcase, of course the first thing that pops to mind is…

But that’s just fantasy. I’m never going to find a beast who will take me prisoner and attempt to buy my love with books. Unfortunately.
But that’s okay, because I happened to have built my own dream bookcase…20150902_185130-1
I love this bookcase so much. And not just for the books. It’s filled with things from people I love. Family, friends, secret sisters. Everything means something to me, and I feel so lucky to have this shelf in my home.
I’m not saying I would say no to Beast’s library.
I’m just saying my own little library would have to come with me.

Thanks Chelsea! If you find that whole entire book shelf missing just pretend you don’t know it was me that took it. Thanks.

Oh, and another thing Chelsea…HOW DARE YOU TAKE MY INITIAL ANSWER!? Of course I want all the shelves in Belle’s library that the Beast uses to win her love.

But sadly I am not Belle and have not been given a gorgeous library as a gift.

Ok, so I must say I am pretty terrible about dreaming up a bookshelf. Mostly because I do have a couple in my house that I really really like right now.

10407826_10203896675998928_4836503850076206908_nThe shelf on the left is all of our classics along with some pictures that hold some sort of importance to us and various objects (there is a tea set in that jar and I love it). The one on the right is books that we are constantly coming back to as our favorites. Some of this has changed (obviously I had to make room for Queen of Shadows and a few others that have become bigger favorites than what I have on there now) but we split it evenly…two shelves for me and two for my husband.

The rest of my books are sadly sitting in boxes because I have two big shelves that are broken (I am sobbing as I type this part, it hurts). So I guess if I had to have my ideal shelf….

  • FLOOR TO CEILING BOOK SHELF: Oh my gosh it would have all kinds of room for ALL the books. I want to not have to think so carefully about if it’s ok if this book doesn’t get displayed or put out on a shelf. I would love MULTIPLE shelves this size. Examples….

OH MY GOSH! My shelves will DEFINITELY need a ladder!
  • COPIES OF ALL MY FAVORITES: There are some books that I just don’t have physical copies of. I want them so that I can put them on these floor to ceiling shelves for the world to see and for me to admire and think about how much I love that book. So like my Harry Potters would OBVIOUSLY be on there as well as my copies of the Scarlet Series, The Wrath and the Dawn, ALL Sarah J Maas, etc.
  • GORGEOUS CLASSICS: As you can see, we kind of collect the classics in that Barnes and Noble binding. I love those and I do think that every household should have some type of book that is their type, and this is ours.

  • FUNKOS: I have but one funko, and I love her dearly. MOTHER OF DRAGONS! I could use some more to class up this ideal book shelf. Harry Potter, Marvel, Nightmare Before Christmas, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc.
  • BOOKISH QUOTES: I don’t have a current picture, but our favorites shelf currently has a canvas over it that has famous first lines (that my sister made me for my birthday). I want more things similar to that to either put in the shelf or around the shelf. I just want to find those quotes that mean something to me and share them with everyone that ever enters my house.
  • COLOR: I have no clue what color these shelves would be. I mean I am thinking black of brown, but it really depends on where I am living and how the walls are painted, etc. I do love shelves with that older feel. I would prefer NOT to get one of those Ikea or Target brand shelves that you piece together and essentially have cardboard on the back (though they work perfectly fine). I want one that feels like it’s housed many stories and supported many book nerds, such as myself.

I think that about covers it, but I bet you I could think of more if I really sat down to think about it and plan out the real deal. This is all just a dream and will probably not be happening anytime soon (which is just so sad).

Feel free to join in on this month’s Spectacularly Swanky Saturday (and all the other ones too!). Just be sure to use the hashtag #SwankySat so that we can see all that joined. Also feel free to leave your post in the comments! I love adding new books to my TBR and always love to add books with swoony characters.

Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays: Summer Fling!

Welcome back to Spectacularly Swanky Saturday! If you are wondering what this is all about head on over the Kelly’s page for info. Last month some of did some buddy reading and gave you our thoughts on The Kiss of Deception! It was definitely a lot of fun to read a book with these ladies that I talk books with CONSTANTLY because then we can squeal, flail, and ask questions as we are all reading it. Loved it.

This month we are talking about the guys in books that make us swoon a bit. You can’t pretend it doesn’t happen. There’s always that character that does things you may find sweet and you find their commitment to another just wonderful. Sometimes you wonder why they aren’t real (because, let’s be honest…how many of us picked a side in the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob battle…basically anyone reading more than the 1st book. Team Edward, BTW. I only kind of stand by that now…).

I am also so happy to be having Chelsea on the blog again! She was talking all her feels for KoD last month and I am sure is pretty pumped to give us a bit about her favorite book guy!

I met Mr. Darcy in bed.
But, really. I met Mr. Darcy in bed.
I was 15 and suffering from the Cold From Hell. CFH had been tormenting me for weeks. Countless trips to the doctor, antibiotics, rest…nothing was doing the trick. I was miserable. I’d long ago exhausted my DVD collection and was running low on things to get my mind off of CFH.
My awesome Uncle, hearing of my distress from my equally awesome Grandfather, thoughtfully brought me a stack of his DVDS.
Among the many action movies, was Pride and Prejudice.
I love romance. I love happy endings. And I love romance heroes that make me fall in love with them right along with the heroine.
I fell in love with Mr. Darcy that night.
This Mr. Darcy. My favorite Mr. Darcy. My ultimate book boyfriend.
And every night, until I got better.
And then I fell in love with all the different versions and variations of him.
The much beloved Colin Firth Mr. Darcy…
The adorably haughty Mark Darcy…
The swoon worthy Sir Laurence Olivier Mr. Darcy…
Mr. Darcy in Bollywood in Bride and Prejudice…
And not to be forgotten, Lost in Austen’s wonderful Mr. Darcy…
And last but not least, I met the plan and simple, Mr. Darcy. Jane Austen’s wonderful, amazing, this-is-why-I-have-high-expectations-of-men Mr. Darcy.
I love them all.
So, am I saying Mr. Darcy cured my CFH?
Why, yes. Yes he did.

Thanks Chelsea! I must remember that if I ever fall ill with that horrible disease to look towards my dear friend Mr. Darcy (this would explain why my cold last week sucked).

Obviously Mr. Darcy is a fantastic book guy. Seriously, amazing. I know very few people that would disagree with that. But there are some other awesome book men, so please excuse me while I fangirl and use gifs to show emotions about some of my favorite men from books:

  1. ROBIN HOOD (from the Scarlet series by AC Gaughen): If you are shocked then we clearly need to get to know each other better. I kind of have that stereotypical thing for Robin Hood characters, and this one in particular is so swoon worthy. First off, his eyes….oh his eyes just sound gorgeous. I think Scarlet describes them every single book and the blue just sounds like perfection. They sound like eyes to get lost in (and it’s possible I got lost in the descriptions of his eyes..). This Robin Hood (and most others I guess) is that guy that would give his life to protect those that he loves. He fights hard for what is right, and fights to keep his people (and romantic interest) safe. But he also kind of knows when to back off (note KIND OF). He’s that selfless guy and ohhhhhh he has a way with words. I am still not over this series. Not at all. I need it back in my life. I am seriously having the WORST time describing this all for you and I hate that, because he is just the greatest and OH MY GOSH CHELSEA JUST FINISH THIS SERIES AND SWOON WITH ME PLEASE!!!
    1. “I’ll keep your heart, Scar,” he whispered. “If you keep mine.”
  2. DAY (from the Legend series by Marie Lu): I think he kind of has this bad boy kind of turned good aspect to him. In the beginning he’s a criminal. Everyone is out looking for him and he’s even a little mysterious (because him being a criminal is such a mystery right away). I just loved seeing the goodness in him and how much he cared for so many people (he fought hard to keep his family safe, even from a distance). He is a fighter, which clearly is something I like to see. I love seeing him grow and change too, and seeing how he matures to situations while still holding on those those he cares about.
    1. “You’re the scariest, most clever, bravest person I know, and sometimes I can’t catch my breath because I’m trying so hard to keep up. There will never be another like you. You realize that, don’t you? Billions of people will come and go in this world, but there will never be another like you.”
  3. TAMLIN (from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas): Ohhhhh Tamlin. What is it about you that I just love? Well for one, you are so incredibly caring that it should be annoying but it’s not. He goes out of his way to keep someone safe that he honestly could have just killed or ignored. But he doesn’t just do that, he strikes up a friendship and continues to add to that feeling of safety and caring. I should probably mention that this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling of sorts (in case you didn’t know that) and when he gives her a library (but not really a library, but the part inspired by that part)….ohhhh that was probably when I was all for him. All the heart eyes to Tamlin.
    1. “I love you,’ he whispered, and kissed my brow. ‘Thorns and all.”

A few other notes about the guys I prefer in books: I am 100% Team Gale (though Katniss probably could have done fine on her own), Four is a fantastic guy (and Tris could be stupid way too often), I like Thorne but seem to prefer Wolf, and I am team Chaol.

Wow, that was fun. How much of my post was actually coherent is unknown but I think you will get the general idea for all things. Any books characters that just make you swoon a bit? Feel free to share in the comments!

Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays: BUDDY READING!

Welcome back to our 3rd Spectacularly Swanky Saturday (held on Friday, July 3rd since tomorrow is a holiday and we should all be spending time with friends and family instead of on the interwebs if possible)! If you are wondering what this is all about head on over the Kelly’s page for info. Last month we talked about our most anticipated release for the summer (and it just so happened that Kelly read mine and I am anxiously awaiting her review). This means that yes, my TBR grew a bit last month and I am ok with that (my TBR grows on a weekly basis, who are we kidding).

This month we grouped up and read a book together. It is no easy task to choose a book that we all have yet to read and have time for. But we managed, and I am so excited to have knocked this one off my TBR (but in the best way possible).

Chelsea, Lauren, and I read Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

We created some interview questions to ask each other to kind of get all of our feelings for the book out in one place. So this is the place where you will read answers to various questions we came up with, and if you head over to Lauren at Live, Love, Read you will find our reactions to the book in gif form and any other sort of flailing we did not include in this post. How will you know which answer belongs to which person? The colors! Emily will be in red (technically maroon), Chelsea will be in green, and Lauren will be in purple. I am so excited to have both Lauren and Chelsea on the blog to answer these questions with me! So, here we go…

  1. What made you want to read this book?
    1. Have you read that description? It’s definitely a book that sounds like something I would be all over. I do love a book where the main character takes control and tries to make her life better, and this seemed to be one of those books to me. SOLD!
    2. It was staring at me from my shelf with that gorgeous cover…And the hype over Heart of Betrayal got me excited to read Kiss of Deception before it came out!
    3. Two things made me really interested in reading this book. 1. It’s a fantasy, which already means I wanted to read it!! 2. I had friends reading it with me!! This always makes me want to read a book more so I can have bookish talks!!
  2. What is your favorite quote?
    1. “My dress streamed behind me, now wedding me to a life of uncertainty, but that frightened me far less than the certain life I had faced. This life was a dream of my own making, one where my imagination was my only boundary. It was a life that I alone commanded.”
    2. “Maybe there was no one way to define it. Maybe there were as many shades of love as the blues of the sky.”
    3. “It can take years to build a dream, but only a second for it to be shattered.” I know this may seem like an odd quote to pick as a favorite, but it just seemed to stick out more than others, plus it has more truth to it than we would like.
  3. What worked for you with this book?
    1. The world worked for me. It was one I could follow but yet kept me wondering. Lia was pretty awesome, which is something I can honestly say about all the character. The author really did a nice job with all of them. The plot concept was interesting and definitely did not let me down.
    3. I really enjoyed the mysterious element behind “the gift” and the strange book Lia stole. Up till the end, the reader kept getting vague details about these two things, but never really knew much about it. Not sure why, but I really liked that.
  4. What, if anything, did not work for you for this book?
    1. Nothing that took away from my enjoyment of the book. The love triangle freaked me out (and if you think that’s a spoiler then OH MY GOSH read the plot and tell me it’s not obvious..because that is the only point that I will apologize for that). I kind of try to avoid them, but not very successfully. However, this one was not as bad as it seemed. There was a bit of instalove, or so it seemed to me, but again…it got better and less weird.
    2. There was one moment…*looks at Emily knowingly* But it in no way took away from my enjoyment of this book!
    3. The insta love that happened with the characters is not something I enjoyed. I’m glad it worked out differently than I first thought it was going to, but I still wished the author wrote that one part a little differently.
  5. Who is your favorite character and why?
    1. Oh goodness, I loved Pauline. She was an absolute true friend and was by Lia’s side no matter what. They would fight and things got in the way, but she did an awesome job of taking her time to get herself through any sort of hump and continue to be there for her friend. It’s a friendship that I love and want.
    2. Lia, our spectacular and amazing and badass heroine. But Pauline, our sweet and brave and also badass secondary character AKA Lia’s best friend, is close behind her.
    3. Lia. I really like her strong willed character, and even though she may have been born a princess, it was easy to forget while reading that she really was one. She had her moments, but never truly irritated me like some characters can.
  6. Did you ever let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding (meaning how was the plot)?
    1. HA as cheesy and we think this sounds, yes…yes I did. I can think of one scene in particular with fighting in the woods towards the endish that I was like gripping my tablet and furiously swiping to the next page (oh my gosh it sounds WAY less dramatic when I am talking about furiously reading my tablet).
    2. OBVIOUSLY YES OF COURSE. This book is so BAM! BAM! BAM! that breathing? I mean, what is air?
    3. There were a few GASP!! moments, for me, but I never truly held my breath at any points. If there was any part that would make you forget to breathe, it would definitely be toward the end!! Lots of stuff goes down toward the end, and it would be easy to get caught up in the moment.
  7. How likely are you to recommend this book to others?
    1. Very likely, if it’s right for their tastes. If they don’t like particular elements that are in this story then why would I recommend it to anyone? But I loved this book, and have a few people in mind to recommend this book to (Arika..I’m coming for you with MORE recommendations. Shocker, right?)
    2. I will make you read this book. I will hunt you down and make you read this book. *sweet smile*
    3. Pretty likely, since I already recommended this to several people!! LOL!! I couldn’t help but share the joy of this book at the first chance I got.
  8. How many kisses would you give this book?
    1. This book was pretty darn good. I would probably lean more towards 4.5. 🙂
    2. ALL OF THEM. 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, 100 out of 100… All the kisses. MUHA!
    3. It was a really good read! Fun and entertaining and I honestly hated to put it down unless I just had to!! So with that being said, I would give this book a 4.5!!
  9. On a scale of 1-10, how badly do you need Heart of Betrayal (10 being OMG SO MUCH!)?
    1. I am going to have to say…8? Like I am very intrigued and interested but I also know I won’t be getting it right away so I am trying to keep myself calm. Yeaaaa I won the book in a giveaway (YAY! Thank you so much Amber! You can find her at This Just Read) so I will hopefully be diving in VERY soon!
    2. OMG SO MUCH!
    3. Probably say a 9! I really want to know what happens, and can’t wait to dive back into the world with Lia and Rafe..and Kaden. Unfortunately this all depends when my library will have my copy in!! I already put a hold on it so no one else could get it before me!

Have you read this book? What was your reaction to it? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Feel free to join in on this month’s Spectacularly Swanky Saturday (and all the other ones too!). Just be sure to use the hashtag #SwankySat so that we can see all that joined. Also feel free to leave your post in the comments! I love adding new books to my TBR and am looking forward to hearing what else people have read together!

(Check them out…Kelly and Lauren (Live, Love, Read), Lindsey (Bring My Books), Brittany (Please Feed the Bookworm), and Chelsea (She likes to bounce from blog to blog but you should DEFINITELY add her on goodreads!))

August 1st – Summer Fling! Who is your book boyfriend? Tell us how you met and what your relationship would be like! This can be real (i.e. I was reading SJMaas and came across Rowan and was all ?!$%%$*), or it can be a completely made up story (i.e. Walking along the beach, I spotted him. His body was far too perfect to be true with “Rowan” tattooed between his shoulder blades. My eyes must have been tricking me). Have fun with it!

Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays: Most Anticipated Summer Release and Buddy Reading!

ssssWelcome back to our 2nd Spectacularly Swanky Saturday! If you are wondering what this is all about head on over the Kelly’s page for info. Last month we talked about all of our dream libraries, and it was awesome to see how a lot of ours were so similar yet SO different. This month we are talking about our most anticipated summer releases.

Does it make me a bad booknerd if I saw this was no easy task for me?

Ok, maybe I should rephrase that because you are probably thinking I have this LONG list of most anticipated books that will be released in the summer. Truth is, not so much. It’s not that there aren’t AMAZING books coming out this summer because I know there are. For some reason all the books that I am so set on and counting down the days for are either fall releases or they were just released in the spring. For some reason my summer is empty of books I am dying to get my hands on. I am also really bad at paying attention to release dates, which is probably another issue. When looking through my TBR I did see some that have summer releases, and after reading through I think I found the book I am most excited for: Tanlged Webs by Lee Bross

London, 1725. Everybody has a secret. Lady A will keep yours—for a price. This sumptuous, scandalous YA novel is wickedly addictive.
Lady A is the most notorious blackmailer in the city. With just a mask and a gown to disguise her, she sweeps into lavish balls and exclusive events collecting the most valuable currency in 1725 London—secrets.
But leading a double life isn’t easy. By day Lady A is just a sixteen-year-old girl named Arista who lives in fear of her abusive master, Bones, and passes herself off as a boy to move safely through the squalor of London’s slums. When Bones attempts to dispose of his pawn forever, Arista is rescued by the last person she expects: Jonathan Wild, the infamous Thief Taker General who moves seamlessly between the city’s criminal underworld and its most elite upper circles. Arista partners with Wild on her own terms in the hopes of saving enough money to buy passage out of London.
Everything changes when she meets Graeden Sinclair, the son of a wealthy merchant. Grae has traveled the world, has seen the exotic lands Arista has longed to escape to her whole life, and he loves Arista for who she is—not for what she can do for him. Being with Grae gives something Arista something precious that she swore off long ago: hope. He has promised to help Arista escape the life of crime that has claimed her since she was a child. But can you ever truly escape the past?

Release date for this beauty: June 23rd (soooo only a couple more weeks! I got this!)

If you know me well then you know this book sounds totally and completely like something that I would love. I swear somewhere in that description there must be a THIS IS FOR EMILY written in there. Just to sum it up…

Arista/Lady A sounds AWESOME. I love a story with a strong main character (male or female…just seems I read a lot from a female’s perspective than a male’s these days). I honestly struggle if the book is told ENTIRELY from a whiny, weak, and slightly pathetic main characters (I sometimes wonder how I made it through the Twilight series. I think by finishing book 4 I rethought my life choices, but how did I go on reading a book when I hated the MC so much?). It’s one thing if there is character growth and if they learn from what they are experiencing and grow from it, but if there is no growth and they just continue to let their current situation own them then I’m done. As in real life things kind of suck, but if you let them own you and do nothing then life will be tough. I feel like this MC will own, and I sure hope that I am right.

THAT SETTING. It’s not too often you find a book that is set in 1725 London, and that fact alone is something that draws me to it. I have a thing for historical fiction, and though my deep (and recent) love for fantasy has kind of stood out I still feel the need for some awesome historical fiction in my life. I hope to find that this book has me wanting to learn MORE about this time period just like Scarlet made me want to learn more of the Robin Hood tales and that time period in England.

Blackmail and badassery. What great book does not need at least one of those two things? The synopsis just gives off that vibe, and I have very high expectations and hope it does not disappoint. I also do not read a lot of books about females who are blackmailers. It kind of just happens in a lot of the books that I read, but to have one that it states this is what she does…awesome.

It’s going to be a series! According to Goodreads. If you know me well you know that I seem to have a slight addiction to books in a series. I don’t know what it is but that always seems to be a high selling point for me. It’s like I know that there will be more so that I can continue to see these characters live on for more books. Sadly, this also typically involves heartbreak and tragedy and death, but the world continues on. This always means I have longs lists of series that I need to finish, but oh well.
This book just sounds so awesome and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Just gotta keep reminding myself that I can do this! I can wait for it! I will get there.

Is this one of the books you are looking forward to this summer? What other books are you anticipating?

Feel free to join in on this month’s Spectacularly Swanky Saturday (and all the other ones too!). Just be sure to use the hashtag #SwankySat so that we can see all that joined. Also feel free to leave your post in the comments! I love adding new books to my TBR and am looking forward to hearing what else is highly anticipated this summer!

(Check them out…Kelly (Live, Love, Read), Lindsey (Bring My Books), Brittany (Please Feed the Bookworm), and posts by both Lauren and Chelsea (Between the Pages))

July 3rd FRIDAY – Buddy Read! (PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE TO FRIDAY to observe U.S. Independence Day) Buddy read a book with a friend and post about it together! Write a review, interview each other, show your reactions throughout the book in memes, BE CREATIVE! Do this post however you would like to while working to connect with someone new!

So, since the next one is for buddy reading I am REALLY encouraging you to join in on the fun! I would LOVE to have a buddy to read with, though I know that can be tricky since some people plan out their TBRs for the month. Here is a link to my rather large list of books I would like to read on Goodreads. Any of ours match up? I would be open to buddy reading ANY of those books, but some that are at the top of my list…Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini, The Game of Love and Death by Martha Brockenbrough, Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, The Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski…that being said, ANY of the books on my list are fair game because I would love to be able to read them ALL. I am very flexible with my reading (because I can’t get myself to plan my TBR to save my life) so it’s all fair game.

So what say you? Would you like to be my buddy and read a book with me?

Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays: Dream Library!

Welcome back to our 2nd Spectacularly Swanky Saturday! If you are wondering what this is all about head on over the Kelly’s page for info. Last month we tackled Book Spine Poetry in hopes that we could get to know each other a little bit, which was a lot of fun (and kind of tricky. It sure took me a bit to get it figured out.). This month……DREAM LIBRARY!

And we all know that I would really just LOVE the library that Beast gave to Belle but Kelly told me that was NOT ok (ha that’s right Kelly, putting the blame on YOU!). Sooooo I suppose this is what my dream library would look like…wpid-weijjcgysdwik.gif

Now I would be lying to you if I told you that I didn’t have an entire board dedicated to bookshelves and all things bookish on Pinterest and could EASILY just tell you to go over there and check it out (which I would recommend you still do that because it’s just cool) buuuut, these are some MUST HAVE things in my dream library (if money and space was not an option).

Obviously my library would have all the books I could ever want. When I say a dream library I mean a whole darn library. Just a room FILLED with books. I cannot imagine my dream library without that. These books would also be organized (because in this perfect world with my dream library I would have time for it all!). I would have things alphabetized by author. I would have things in their respective sections. I would have the non-fiction shelved by their Dewey number. I am talking a real library guys.

THERE WOULD BE A SYSTEM! Yes, a checkout system of some sort. Because I do LOVE to spread my love of books. I love to freak out over the awesomeness of books with people, but I have some anxiety about lending books to people. BORROWING means they should come back. I have had too many people borrow things and never return (and if you are reading this I maaaay be pointing my finger at you, but for the most part I have forgiven you). I need a system so you can enjoy the books too!

Ok, now that I have gotten the whole organization part out of the way….

My dream library would have some sort of reading nook (because HOW COZY do these lovelies look?)

It would have plenty of NATURAL light. Right now the room in my apartment that I would like to have be my reading room eventually gets A LOT of natural light. So many windows. It’s perfect. But I would also like some lamps with some soft lighting. I would hate to have a room that is lit up by anything close to florescent lighting.

And of course…there would be AMPLE shelf space. Obviously not EXACTLY like this, but still…

And of course there would be some plant life. Maybe some candles and bookish/nerdy pictures on the wall (because I do what I want). It would MOST DEFINITELY include some of these posters….
Because who DOESN’T love being told by Loki and Alan Rickman to read? But then there are these too (ha, this is what I get for trying to be all classy)…

Well, there it is…my dream library. Lots of nerdiness, but also lots of books.

What about you…what would YOUR dream library look like? Any similarities between ours?

Feel free to join in on this month’s Spectacularly Swanky Saturday (and all the other ones too!). Just be sure to use the hashtag #SwankySat so that we can see all that joined. Also feel free to leave your post in the comments! Cannot wait to see what other libraries people come up with!

Next Month (June 6th)…Most Anticipated Release (What is your most anticipated new release of the summer?! Why are you excited for it?! Make this a spotlight on your blog if you would like and help the author promote their masterpiece!)

Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays: BOOK SPINE POETRY!

It’s finally time! It’s finally time! It’s finally time!

Yea…I’m a little excited to start this out. I really enjoy doing various things like this on my blog, and I am so excited to attempt to start one out. ssss

A little background if you can’t quite remember what the Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays are all about…Spectacularly Swanky Saturdays is a monthly blog post filled with fun and original ideas to unite the blogging community and our readers. Though it’s hosted by the “swank six”, we invite everyone to join us on our monthly journey to celebrate our love of all things bookish!

Our first topic is…Book Spine Poetry (Create a poem that says something about you with book spine titles! It can be any length, from two books all the way to infinity.)

So…here we go. I had a hard time with this because I feel like some titles just don’t lend themselves to poetry that easily (or maybe I am just lacking in the area of creativity…this could be possible).

The outsiders just listen between shades of gray.

How this describes me I am not 100% sure but these are all books that I adore and will recommend frequently (if you haven’t read them please do so, because I promise you…they are excellent. Seriously…check it out…The OutsidersJust ListenBetween Shades of Gray). They are just very ME stories. Some laughs, smiles, tears, and emotions. I love that kind of thing.

Have you read any of these books? Because if you have not I would love to talk you into it (I’ll bake you cookies for reading them, obviously).

Be sure to check out the rest of the Swank Six’s book spine poetry and anyone else that may be joining…and be sure to chat us up on #SwankySat. We would love to see what you have created and to get to know more about you!

Feel free to link to your pages in the comments! I would love to see what you all come up with!

Next month….May 2nd…CREATE YOUR OWN LIBRARY. You know, that ultimate dream library you just KNOW you have in your near (possibly imaginary) future (or…is that just me?).
