Welcome back for another Top Ten Tuesday! We got to admit, our Tuesdays just are not the same without making a list of 10 books or bookish things (yes, Emily was a little sad to miss out last week but at the same time it was necessary…). On this particular Tuesday, the 3rd of June (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?) we are listing 10 series that we have been meaning to start but just haven’t gotten around to yet. These can be books we have owned for forever, books that have been our lists forever, etc. So, here are some series that we have been meaning to dive in to but just haven’t yet (due to not owning them, not having all the books in the series, the book series not being completely finished, or because we have book ADD).
Emily:
Red Rising (Red Rising series) by Pierce Brown | Finnikin of the Rock (The Lumatere Chronicles) by Melina Marchetta | Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms series) by Morgan Rhodes | Spells & Sorcery (Lexie Carrigan series) by S. Usher Evans | Ivory and Bone (Ivory and Bone series) by Julie Eshbaugh | A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird series) by Claudia Gray | The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer series) by Michelle Hodkin | The Crown’s Game (The Crown’s Game series) by Evelyn Skye | Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone series) by Laini Taylor | Incarnate (Newsoul series) by Jodi Meadows
Arika:
Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy #1) by Danielle L. Jensen | The Winner’s Curse (The Winner’s Trilogy #1) by Marie Rutkoski | A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic #1) by V.E. Schwab | A Shadow Bright and Burning (Kingdom on Fire #1) by Jessica Cluess | Trial by Fire (Worldwalker #1) by Josephine Angelini | Alanna: The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness #1) by Tamora Pierce | Defiance (Defiance #1) by C.J. Redwine | The Crown’s Game (The Crown’s Game #1) by Evelyn Skye | Air Awakens (Air Awakens #1) by Elise Kova | Stormdancer (The Lotus War #1) by Jay Kristoff
QUESTION: Which series should we prioritize? And what are some series that you have been meaning to read but just haven’t yet?
oh, I really want to read Defiance too!
Great list

I just read another one of her books, The Shadow Queen, and it was really good.

Arika, I’m with you on A Darker Shade of Magic! Sometimes I feel like the only blogger who hasn’t read it XD I wouldn’t prioritize the Alanna books if I were you – they’re good, but nothing life-changing that you MUST READ RIGHT NOW. I still haven’t read Magnus Chase or Chaos Walking….what is my life.

Thanks! Yea I really want to read it and I just keep putting it off…not because it doesn’t sound amazing…but more because I have other books I feel I need to read. I hope I can get it done this year for sure!

I haven’t read any of these, although a bunch of them are on my miles-long TBR list. *Sigh* So many books, so little time …

Oh we feel you on that one. Add in being such a mood reader and man…things just do not seem to get read. Hopefully we can all tackle a little bit of that every growing list!

Isn’t it gorgeous. It’s a trilogy, from what I gather, and each cover looks beautiful. I have heard mostly good things and have the first book sitting on my shelf. Must get to it soon!

Definitely prioritize The Winner’s Curse, The Crown’s Game, and A Thousand Pieces of You. They all have such rich worlds. I also really liked A Shadow Bright and Burning.

Good to know. I have been eyeing The Crown’s Game as it sits on my shelf. After I finish a few arcs I may have to just dive in.

I’ve started Daughter of Smoke and Bone and ADSOM, and I finished the Alanna quartet. Since I haven’t started any of the others, I wanna say start with them so you can tell me if they’re any good. 😉 ADSOM was pretty good though.

Ha will do! I just gotta get that reading bug back. Been in such a stupid slump, and not because my books aren’t good but I get distracted. Then I will dive in and keep you posted 🙂

The Shades of Magic books are amazing, it’s one of my favourite fantasy series. I liked The Crown’s Game but not as much as I’d hoped. Several of the other books on both your lists are on my TBR.
