Raise your hand if you have sat down and read a book in one sitting?
Yep, we have too. Isn’t that just the best feeling. That moment you pick up a book and get completely and totally lost in that world. You are so immersed in the book that the day gets away from you and…YOU FINISH IT! It’s a feeling that we love, though with the business of our daily lives it’s something we don’t get to do that often. This week for Top Ten Tuesday we are counting down the books we read in 1 sitting. We think this means that within a 24 hour period you finish an entire book. So what books have we knocked out in a day?
Emily:
I hardly ever get through a book in a day. When I do, oh it’s a great feeling. Last year during my spring break I read a book a day, and I am planning on doing that this year as well (I may even get a picture of my stack and keep track of my progress on here for you guys. I have a great pile going right now!). So…what books have I finished in a day?
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff | Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein | I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios | Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay | All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven | Ruin and Rising by Leigh Barudgo | Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson | Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi | Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn | How to Say Goodbye in Robot by Natalie Standiford
QUESTION: What books have you read in a day?
So many books worthy of a one sitting read on your list. Shatter Me. All the Bright Places. I’ll Meet You There. All so good!

I know right!? Sometimes it’s all about having the time to sit there and knock them out. So glad I was able to do that with these books!

A Gillian Flynn book made my list today too! lol! Thriller books are so hard to put down!! I have a few of the others on your list in my TBR pile. I’ll get to them all eventually….I hope! That TBR pile just keeps growing and growing! So many good books and not enough time!

Ha oh the struggle of the reader. Too many things to read and never enough time to read them. I hope that you can get to them!

Illuminae is a pretty easy book to read fast despite how long it is. Great choice!

I know right!? I looked at it and was thinking of how long it would take me, but it just flies by. I have the next book for spring break so I am hoping to do the same!

Code Name Verity and Shatter Me… be still my reading heart. I think I did actually read Code Name Verity in one sitting, but that was way back before I was married and was a hermit. Great list. Happy reading!

I very rarely finish a book in a day but I agree it’s a great feeling when I do! Illuminae falls in that category for me- okay I don’t think I read it in one day but it definitely kept me turning pages! And Gone Girl I still need to read…

I never read books in a day! I really enjoyed Code Name Verity and Gone Girl though, even if it did take me more than a day to read them!

Hi! I can’t believe you read All the Bright Places in one day. That book seemed to go on forever. 🙂 I liked it, but there were just so many scenes!

I dunno what it was. I think it just kind of hit me in a weird, almost relatable way, and I just had to keep going (and sobbing. Ooooh that book had me going).
