I am getting back into the swing of things, and what better way to do that than with Top Ten Tuesday!? Hopefully I will be getting more posts up as the month goes on.
This week on Top Ten Tuesday we are talking about bookish names we would want to use for pet names or children’s names. I know exactly what would happen if I started picking names for future children (waaay in the future people. WAAAAAY in the future!) and since I keep dreaming of getting a dog I thought this was fitting. So…here are my top 10 bookish dog names.
- Dobby (kind of a no brainer here right? From the Harry Potter Series)
- Rue (from The Hunger Games)
- Finnick (again, from The Hunger Games)
- Alanna (from Alanna:The First Adventure)
- Feyre (from A Court of Thorns and Roses)
- Rowan (from Throne of Glass series)
- Jesper (from Six of Crows)
- Gimli (from Lord of the Rings)
- Kili (or Fili, or Ori, or Gloin, or any of their names really. From The Hobbit)
- Fezzik (from The Princess Bride)
What are some book names that you would use for dog names (or cat, or any other pet, or child)?
Oh I Love Gimli

Great list. There were some names on there I hadn’t heard before. I have Finnick on my list too. I agree with you about The Hobbit. Hobbit names would make great pet names.

I honestly think I will name every dog after one of the Hobbits characters. Just all too perfect.

It was one of those names I looked at as I was looking back at favorite books and decided it had to happen. One day.

I think I would be giddy if my husband let me name a dog Dobby. It’s just too fantastic.

Isn’t it though? Though I dunno if I will ever own a dog as fierce as the name deserves.
